Edify - Pastoral Lay Counselling

Edify is investing in growing a small team of Registered Pastoral Counsellors who are Christ-following experienced pastoral counsellors and registered with a professional board. Our aim to target the growing need for affordability found between volunteer lay carers and professional psychologists.

Our rates are R700 an hour. (Zoom sessions are arranged for those outside the counsellor's working zone.)

Counsellors

Corinne is a Pastoral and Wellness Counsellor who is registered with the ASCHP (Association for Supportive Counselors and Holistic Practitioners). She has been part of the Grace Counselling and leadership team for the past thirteen years. Corinne worked as an educator for much of her life. She later studied through Unisa and gained an Advanced Certificate in Counselling. Corinne is now following her passion for walking beside people in their journeys towards wholeness and restoration as she joins the Edify team. Corinne is based in Durban – KZN

Moira is a Pastoral and Wellness Counsellor who is registered with the ASCHP (Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practioners). Her career was spent as a Director of a Skills Development company, writing Personal Development and Behavioural training courses for accreditation at SETA and Department of Higher Education Level. She studied as a Christian Mental Health Coach at the Light University USA (endorsed by the American Association of Christian Counsellors). She also holds a Certificate in Life Coaching with the Results Coaching System (Australia).

Liza is a Pastoral and Wellness Counsellor accredited with the Counsel for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors (CPSC) and the Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holisitic Practitioners (ASCHP). She studied as a Christian Mental Health Coach at the Light University USA (endorsed by the American Association of Christian Counsellors). She has more than ten years of experience as a counsellor and completed a BA Honors degree in Theology. She has a passion for people and to come alongside the emotionally wounded on their journey to wholeness.

Diana is a Pastoral and Holistic counsellor who is registered with the ASCHP (Association for Supportive Counsellors and Holistic Practitioners). She joined life line 20 years ago and worked as a volunteer counsellor there for a period of 7 years. She joined the Grace Counselling team, where she worked as a volunteer and leader in the ministry for 15 years. During this time she studied through UNISA and obtained a Certificate in Christian counselling as well as in Advanced Counselling. Diana followed the desires of her heart to walk a journey with hurting people for the past 20 years. Her delight in this journey is to witness how God transforms those who are broken to wholeness. She has joined the Edify Team to continue in this journey. Diana is based in Durban North

Leisha has a heart for people. She worked for 15 years in a non-profit, Christian organisation where she focused on Child and Youth Development and moved on to training staff and volunteers to counsel and develop young adults in group and individual settings. Leisha moved into corporate 7 years ago as an HR practitioner for an IT company and has used the Enneagram extensively within her team to assist in areas of individual coaching, team building, conflict management and performance management. She has continued to train and facilitate workshops within both corporate and non-profit organisations. Leisha also heads up the Counselling Team at her church. Her passion is to see people grow into the fullness of who they are meant to be and to watch shifts take place in their lives as they discover their true potential.

Madz is a Pastoral Counsellor who is registered with the CPSC (Counsel for Pastoral and Spiritual Counsellors) She was the founder of Grace Counselling, where she counselled and trained volunteers for 12 years. She is currently the founder and director of Edify a ministry that seeks to empower churches and communities with tools for emotional and spiritual well-being. She has a B.A. Hons Degree in Theology & Counselling through Brunel University in the U.K. Having been in full-time ministry for over 19 years Madz has a heart specifically to provide a safe confidential space to help others process the complexities of ministry alongside their own personal challenges. Madz is based in Randburg – Gauteng.
